Chalet D’Espoir is the Global Leadership Retreat space and a retreat/gathering space for teams, families and community. Today, we need your help! The hurricanes have damaged Chalet D’Espoir, and we need you to help repair and build for future success and dreams!

Our girls are raising money to make the Global Leadership Retreat affordable.

So, we are asking you:

We want to make your volunteer experience as much fun as possible, so we hope that some of you can use this as a volunteer vacation of sorts. Come to Florida with family and friends, volunteer for a day or two and then enjoy the space or maybe even go to the nearby theme parks (Lots to choose from- LEGOLAND, Universal Studios, SeaWorld and of Course Disney World.)

So, if you can’t come and help, please donate to provide what’s needed and/or connect us with resources to get this project ready.

About us and the need:

Higher Learning U is a nonprofit based in Colorado with roots that run from Florida to Uganda and is the origin of The African American Young Ladies Summit Program (AAYLS.) We are dedicated to empowerment through leadership development, academic excellence, and personal growth. Leadership and safety are imperative to personal development; The Global Leadership Retreat is one of the spaces where we grow and nurture these skills & values. The girls spend 5 days learning, developing, and practicing skills that they then use in leading the Sista 2 Sista Day of Mentoring Conference, yes, their own conference!

We will be engaging in all types of learning that we will bring back to our community and apply right away as a leader at the Sista 2 Sista Mentoring Day (Peer to Peer mentoring) on March 7th. Any donation makes an impact. Certain donation levels come with a "Thank You" gift. Gifts can be picked up at the Sista 2 Sista event on March 7th or at the Showcase on April 26th. The Journey Through The Decades of Black Excellence Showcase 

On April 22nd at 6:30PM we celebrate the decades of Black Excellence in History, Art and Fashion. The African American Young Ladies Summit Program (AAYLS) welcomes you to attend our annual scholarship and Uganda fundraiser. This show allows us to give scholarships to our graduating seniors and support some of our youth leaders to attend our leadership journey to Uganda. Our scholarships' range from $500 to $1000 but are based on available funds raised. Each young lady's journey to Uganda costs $2600. 

The show will be lots of fun for the whole community, learning and celebrating Black History, Black Artistry and Black Beauty.

Requested Donations are : $25 for Adults and $10 for students.  We appreciate all funds donated over the requested amount!

                        Our goal is to provide at least 5 scholarships and pay for two young ladies to attend the conference.
