About Heart of America Humane Society
Founded in 1992, the Heart of America Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. It is entirely volunteer-run. Heart of America Humane Society doesnt run a shelter; instead, the dedicated volunteers partner with two Greater Kansas City area shelters (Kansas City KS and Lee's Summit MO) to help their dogs and cats find their forever homes. In 2022, we also added an Outreach Team to provide animals in need with basic pet supplies and we also added a TNR team to Trap, Neuter, and Release feral/community cats to work on controlling the cat population.
