Healing Transitions

This weekend I’m participating in a 48 hour run challenge. Starting at 11pm on Friday I’m running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. I asking for your help to raise money for  Healing Transitions of Raleigh. Healing Transitions has been providing peer driven long term residential services since January of 2001. During that time they have been very successful in empowering people who are homeless and suffer from substance use issues transition to a fulfilling life. Along with their community partners, they have been able to reduce Wake County homeless population by 25% even as the overall population in Wake County has grown 45%. Join me in making a difference by supporting a good cause! Addiction recovery is a huge part of my life. Without places like Healing Transitions many people like myself may not have been given the chance to learn how to live life without drugs and alcohol. Healing Transitions  believes that all people struggling with addiction (especially the homeless, uninsured and underserved) deserve services on demand – as many times as it takes – to find recovery. They change lives daily and never turn anyone away who’s seeking help. It is the coolest place in the world with the best humans. When Brad and I met, we became instant friends and realized we both have a passion for Healing Transitions and have friends that have been through the program. 


We want our communities to know everything there is to know about this awesome organization, so for their annual fundraiser, the Oakwood 24 , we are joining ultra-runner in recovery, Jon Frey, in walking for 24 hours for Healing Transitions.
