Mother/Daughter Mission Trip to Haiti
Dear Family and Friends,
My 2015 mission trip to Haiti challenged me to step outside of what was comfortable and familiar and into an experience that changed my life. My kids were both heartbroken and inspired by the personal stories and photographs I shared with them. It has been on my heart to get Brooke to join in the work the Lord is doing in Haiti, and now is the time! Brooke and I will be serving with the Healing Haiti organization from July 29 - August 5, 2019.
The energy and optimism in Haiti is palpable. You can feel it and you can see it. Healing Haiti runs a water truck in the worst parts of the poorest slum in Haiti delivering water bucket by bucket for free. We will bring free food to schools, orphanages, aftercare children’s programs and abandoned elderly to give them a meal that might be the only one they receive that day. This organization provides access to low cost medical and dental care along with preventative community health education initiatives. And they care for 30 abandoned elderly in the rural village of Titanyen, bringing them a hot meal, clean water, love and friendship each day. They ensure these elders have access to medical care, a bed and mattress, a safe and dry house to live in and a talking bible so they can hear God’s word each day. The impact of the work being done through these mission trips is gaining momentum across the country and around the world.
