Hbfight Club

My name is Kasha Mercurio, my husband, John and I are the owners of HB Fight Club, Inc. We started our program in 2018 and became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 2022. Our club uses boxing as a movement and mental health therapy for individuals with degenerative brain disease, movement disorders, and youth and adults with special needs and cognitive disabilities. In the past few years, we have continued to expand and see the impact our programs have on our members. Our classes offer a legitimate way for our members to become mentally and physically strong and provide support from others fighting the same fight.

Donating to HB Fight Club, INC would help us reach our expansion goal to serve our community more appropriately. Our current facility is 1600 sqft and is not handicapped accessible. We have become highly recognized for our boxing therapy within the communities we work with and have had to turn away new members who use wheelchairs or who cannot walk unassisted. Currently, our classes are beginning to reach total capacity, and we need to make our instructors more full-time to expand our programs. Most of our referrals come from Orange Coast Memorial, Hoag Hospital of Newport Beach, the Regional Center of Orange County, and numerous Neurologists around Orange County.

In 2023 we are working to raise $50k to expand our programs and keep them inclusive to everyone who is struggling and could benefit from our services. Funds raised will improve our facility space to accommodate more handicapped individuals. We will be able to add more classes to the schedule, so our members can be sure to participate in the recommended three days per week. We strongly believe in keeping our membership prices affordable for the community as most of our members are low-income or are on fixed incomes. Our club has evolved into an integrative community center where everyone, young and old, can unite and fight back with common goals.
