What's up, my people! My name is Kathleen Beachy, and welcome to my fundraiser! As many of you know, one of my main passions in life is giving back to the community and the less fortunate. Last year, I was able to travel to Belize with Hand in Hand Ministries, where myself, along with my father and many others, built a house from the ground up for a deserving family. The experience was one I will never forget. Life-changing in more ways than one, I am excited to travel down to Belize again this year to build another house for a local Belizean family. While there, I witnessed firsthand just how much of a third-world country it really is. Imagine living with no running water, no bathroom in your house, and your yard is made of sand that's piled on top of trash to create stable ground for a house. This is the reality for the people of Belize. Oftentimes, we take what we have for granted until we are reminded just how lucky and fortunate we are living in a country where we have endless resources. It is truly a humbling experience to be able to go on this trip and know you are lending a hand to create something beautiful.
This is where you all come in! By donating, you are helping me get back down to a country that needs our strength, determination, and willingness to get this family into a home they deserve. Any and all donations count, whether that's $5, $50, or $500; it all goes to Hand in Hand and sending me to a country I have grown to love so much. Hand in Hand is a wonderful non-profit located in Louisville, KY, that gives back to the local area, along with Appalachia, Belize, and Nicaragua. I highly recommend going to their website, reading about what they offer, and maybe volunteering your time for a great cause. My hope is to raise enough money for my trip and then some to give back to Hand in Hand.
