Organized by The Halide Project

Help The Halide Project reach our next phase!
The Halide Project is a Philadelphia-based non-profit whose mission is to support the continued practice and appreciation of film and historic process photography. We currently do this through exhibitions, educational programming (both in-person and virtual), collaborations with other organizations, and public initiatives.
From its founding six years ago, one of the primary goals of The Halide Project has been to build a darkroom to serve the analog photography community in Philadelphia. With the help of supporting grants and the generosity of countless individuals, we are excited to announce that we have achieved that goal. Our darkroom construction is complete and we are planning to open to the public in early 2022!
We also have recently been presented with the opportunity to expand our gallery and working space. This will allow us to present more exhibitions, offer more workshops, and create a shooting studio. We have other ideas brewing as well!
With the launch of the darkroom and our expansion plans, The Halide Project will enter a new phase of growth, one with more opportunities - for local photographers, educators, and exhibiting artists - but these opportunities will also require more resources. Your donation towards our goal of $10,000 will allow us to put the finishing touches on the darkroom, outfit the new gallery space and studio, create necessary infrastructure, and help us transition to a bigger and brighter future!
