Haiti Connection

My name is Ruben Joanem. I am originally from Haiti. I have been involved with humanitarian projects to Haiti for the past three decades. My non-profit organization is Haiti Connection. Our mission is the following: Empowering poor and vulnerable Migrants to navigate the complexity of Immigration Laws. Our engagement is to provide competent and affordable representation.

Populations Served: Immigrants, Asylum Seekers, Parolees, and People in Removal Proceedings by means of legal representation.

Services Offered: Status Adjustments, Green Card Applications, Work Authorization Documents, and Immigrant Visas.

Actions: Preparedness + Avoiding Panic.

Our goal is to educate migrants in the best course of action when interacting with law enforcement agencies. ICE may raid places of work, come to people's homes, or grab folks on the street to put them in detention centers for deportation. We will help make plans for children in case of deportation or detention by helping to provide a safe place to go after school if their parents are in detention for removal.
