Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County

Dear Friends:

I am excited to announce my participation in this year’s Dancing For Our Heroes event! Inspired by the popular television show, “Dancing with the Stars,” this local interpretation put on by the Rotary Club of Greater Anderson allows teams to raise money for charities in Anderson County.

I am Jeffrey Simpson, principal at Pendleton Elementary. I have lived in Anderson County for my entire life. I’ve served as a youth pastor for 10 plus years and as an educator for 14 years. I love to serve others. My partner and pro is Lisa O’Kelley. Lisa has lived in the Anderson area for over 30 years. She has always been very active in her community, fundraising events, and Upstate and Georgia community theaters. She is an avid hiker, and a very proud Nina (grandmother) to her four precious grandchildren. We will dance to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity.

My staff at PES and I served with Habitat for Humanity in the fall and fell in love with the mission and purpose of this organization. I’m dancing to raise funds for the next house that will be built for a very deserving family in Anderson county. I need your help! Let’s sacrifice for someone in need. Our mission is not about dancing but  it is all about LOVE and SERVICE. We just dance to have fun! 

I have committed to raise $15,000 to support this program through a campaign leading up to the event. Please help me reach this goal by making a donation. If all of my friends and coworkers will give something, we can make a huge difference!

Have you ever pushed beyond your comfort zone to do something extra special for someone you love? Well, I'm about to do just that because of my love for Habitat.

I am a "celebrity" dancer in this year’s Dancing for Our Heroes event! Inspired by the popular television show “Dancing with the Stars,” this local interpretation put on by the Rotary Club of Greater Anderson allows teams to raise money for charities in Anderson County. 

My dance partner Davis Bannister and I will be dancing to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County. With help from our choreographer Lisa O'Kelly, we hope to entertain you with our Vegas-themed show. (Stay tuned for practice updates and sneak peeks!)

I may be biased as a staff member, but Habitat's program is really amazing, and so are the people we work with. Our future homeowners are like family. I get to see how hard they work to build (literally) a better life for themselves and their families, and I watch them grow as they work toward their dream of home ownership. (I’ll be sharing my favorite stories here and on my Facebook page.)
 
Last year, the amazing Terri Anderson danced for Habitat and raised nearly $10,000 leading up to the event. I would love to match that this year! Please help me raise $10,000 by making a donation to impact affordable housing in Anderson County.

I am also excited to announce my dance partner, Hoke Powell, a very gifted dancer and junior state shag champion. Hoke and I are working hard to put together a great show for your entertainment, but we need your support. 

We will dance to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County. Habitat is near to my heart because, being in real estate, I see firsthand the need for many families who can't buy a home the conventional way to be able to achieve their dream. Habitat provides the means to turn those dreams into reality.
