GWA PTO

Our money drive is part of the GWA Fall Carnival. For the money drive alone, we have a goal of $30,000. It is a part of the overall Carnival goal of $50,000.

We would like to renovate our school library and add water bottle refill dispensers to our drinking fountains.   Annual expenses total over $40,000 for our 1,000+ students and include academic supplies, Innovation Fair, Talent Show, Art Competition, Field Trips, and Field Day.

George Washington Academy is a K-8th grade charter school in St. George focusing on advanced, challenging academics, and most subjects are taught a minimum of one grade level ahead as a standard. We were named Charter School of the Year by the Utah Association of Public Charter Schools for 2013 and nominated in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

The 2016 SAGE score results are in, and George Washington Academy (GWA) had the highest proficiency ratings in Washington County, Utah in both math and science, and ranked second in language arts.  Overall, GWA was ranked one of the top 10 schools in Utah in both math and science! 

Last year, our fundraising paid for 8 beautiful playground structures, a walking path for exercise, and a garden designed by the hands-on engineering class. This year, our goal is to add an umbrella shade for the patio next to the grass field and to add some outdoor drinking fountains in the front and back of the school, in addition to paying for windproof umbrellas for the carpool staff.
