Gulf Coast Citizen Diplomacy Council, Inc.

We are raising funds to staff Camp Global with two university students who will work part-time as camp counselors in the summer of 2022. A donation of $70 covers the cost of one counselor for a day, while a donation of $350 covers the week. This will be the third year we have held the camp, a local initiative that depends on community funding.

 

Camp Global introduces local high schoolers to the world beyond Northwest Florida. It challenges them to explore topics of global importance and the changes they would like to see in the world. Teens gain knowledge about other cultures, practice their communication skills, and work on a collaborative project in an intercultural environment. Having two university students join us as counselors gives our office the extra hands we need to make this experience possible.

 

In 2021, the exchange welcomed 56 teens from Brazil, Gaza, India, Italy, Kosovo, Poland, and the USA. University students and recent graduates worked with the teens over five weeks to explore environmental issues. The entire experience was digital.
