Groundworks Tucson is fundraising

Keep Groundworks Tucson funded through COVID-19
We've all been impacted by the effects of COVID-19 in so many different ways. For Groundworks, we were able to secure a physical location at 236 S Tucson Blvd in January, but by March we had to cancel all scheduled classes and events for the foreseeable future. The first month or two, we held off on making plans awaiting news on the reopening of venues, schools, etc. and instead focused on our buildout efforts to finalize preparations for the space. After it became clear that concerts, gatherings, and other events would not be taking place anytime soon, we pivoted our plans and programming to serve our community even in the midst of a pandemic!
We have since implemented safety precautions to have small numbers of people in our space for band practices, gallery showings and more. We are working with youth musicians and artists to promote their work both in the space and online. And, we've created an entirely online model of our space to allow exploration of Groundworks virtually and safely.
We're asking for $5,000 to start so that we can keep promoting the youth-driven music and arts community in Tucson through our current programming, but so that we can also expand our work even further to serve our community. Because we planned to open at the exact time that COVID-19 hit, our business had to completely change. We need to make a new foundation so that we have room to experiment and be creative. We want to add to what we are doing at Groundworks: create a music instrument loaner library program, keep working on our safety measures in the space, create online classes, and more.
We don't have the income that we anticipated we'd be able to generate by bringing people in our community together physically for classes and shows. Your contribution would be an incredible help to us. In fact, it will help us more now than ever.
