Greencastle Summer Music, Inc.

With a $5000.00 matching grant from a friend of the GSMF, the Greencastle Summer Music Festival is raising funds for a new sound system at our visually and acoustically beautiful concert venue, Greencastle's Gobin Church, which since 2005 has hosted us free of charge for 300+ performances and recordings. In addition to what's showing on this page, we've received $2500.00 in direct donations by check or PayPal. So as of 3:00pm on Dec. 29, we are already at $4651!

Our summer series of multi-genre concerts will celebrate its 20th season this summer. The festival's board and its executive/artistic director, Eric Edberg, believe that taking the lead in raising funds for this project is a great way for us to thank Gobin as well as enhance the live concert experience for our audiences and performers.

So many people have told us that becoming part of the GSMF family has deeply enhanced or even changed their lives. We are committed to creating community through shared arts experiences, with "friends making music for friends."

In addition to the funds we raise through this campaign, we have been encouraged by our local Putnam County Community Foundation to apply for a grant, and they have suggested other funding sources as well. Based on the feedback we've received so far, we are extremely optimistic that when the Summer Music Festival family raises $10,000.00, we will be able to raise an additional $20,000.00 in grants for a major upgrade of the system.
