Help Restore Broome Park After Suffering Severe Wind Damage
Support the Greater Flint Area Baseball Softball Association – Help Restore Broome and Whaley Parks
The Greater Flint Area Baseball Softball Association (GFABSA) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality recreational opportunities to youth and adults throughout the Flint community. As the full-time operator and caretaker of Broome and Whaley Parks, we proudly serve the City of Flint by maintaining and improving these vital public athletic facilities.
Our Board of Directors is comprised of community-minded individuals who volunteer their time and expertise to ensure the success of our mission:
- Commissioner: Drew Johnson
- President: Thomas Healey
- Vice President: Hon. Duncan Beagle
- Treasurer: Roger Foutch
- Secretary: Robert Holec
- Trustees: Steve Johnson, Lisa Johnson and Joe Beckwith
We are reaching out to our community for support following a devastating wind storm at the end of March, which caused significant damage at both parks. The storm tore through the area, severely damaging the backstop, as well as roofs on several press boxes and sheds, and disrupting electrical lines on the light poles.
These damages have not only impacted the safety and functionality of our facilities, but also threaten to disrupt the leagues, tournaments, and community events that bring families together and promote healthy, active lifestyles.
We are currently raising funds to:
- Replace the damaged section of the Broome Park backstop
- Repair press box and shed roofs damaged by wind
- Restore electrical systems needed for field lighting and safe operations
Your donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward these essential repairs and help us continue our mission of maintaining safe, welcoming, and functional recreational spaces for the people of Flint.
Thank you for your support of youth sports and our Flint community.
Donate today and help us rebuild!
