Are you a runner without a race, a tennis player without a tournament, golfer without a course, a gym rat stuck inside?  The Corona Virus crisis has halted all sporting events as well as concerts and even going to the movies.  

If you’re an avid sports fan, an “Athlete or Fan without Events”, please consider donating some of the monies you may have planned for these events to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.  Let’s help them meet the expected surge in demand as the Corona Virus continues to disrupt our community. 

Each dollar provides three meals.  All money raised will be donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.  Lets make a difference.

Ogden Park, please join me in supporting our local food bank in this difficult time. The Covid 19 quarantine has caused a great need at the food bank for food and volunteers as many people are out of work and now food insecure. Let’s as a neighborhood support this wonderful charity that has been supporting BR for so long. Note that up to $300 will be deductible on your income taxes even if you don’t itemize through the CARES legislation in place now.

Virginia Kerr and Tim Ezell have a passion for sharing stories about people sewing the good in their community.  That's what their television show, The Thread,  in St. Louis, MO,  is all about.  

They are also passionate about college football:  Virginia an Alabama graduate and Tim an LSU grad.  Now they are bringing both passions together for a great cause!  The challenge is on to see who can raise more money to support the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank as they provide meals for those affected by the recent floods.  

It's the LSU Alumni vs. the Alabama Alumni, and all of their friends!   The contest runs til LSU and Alabama kick off on November 5.
