Hi, we’re Ferdy and Charlie

We’re fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity by taking on the challenge of walking Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours.

On 7th–8th March, we’ll be tackling two of the UK’s highest mountains back-to-back, pushing ourselves physically and mentally to raise money for an incredible cause. Great Ormond Street Hospital is a charity very close to home for us, as Charlie’s brother Alfie received care there before sadly passing, and we’ve seen first-hand the incredible work they do for children and their families.

For some of you running a half marathon it may be easy but for a non runner its a challenge.

I have been training for the Burj to Burj half marathon in Dubai on February 8th and I am running it in memory of my best friend Morgan and Morgan's younger brother Barnie.

I wanted to run this not only for a personal challenge but an opportunity to raise money for a charity that is close to Morgans & Barnies parents, Victor and Carly, as well as all of their Family, who I hold very dear to my heart.

This fundraiser is a way of honouring Morgan & Barnie's memory, and supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital that did everything in their power to save Barnie's life, they truly go above and beyond for children and families when it matters most.

Donating to Great Ormond Street Hospital helps give critically ill children the best possible chance, supports families through unimaginable circumstances, and ensures that everything medically possible can be done when it matters most.

So I’m doing it…I’m finally taking on the London Marathon in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity! I would be so grateful if you could spare whatever you may have to help raise money for this magnificent charity - one that is incredibly close to our family.

As many of you may already know, GOSH is a hospital and a charity very close to our hearts, due to the care they have given to our daughter Edie since birth. Within hours of being born, Edie was whisked away from us due to the abnormal markings on her skin and the difference in size between her limbs. Between both Medway Maritime Hospital and GOSH that day, they diagnosed Edie with an incredibly rare condition called CMTC (Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita). So rare in fact that fewer than 300 people have been recorded in medical literature as having been diagnosed with the condition. Given how little they know about the condition, their care of Edie has been second to none. Regular appointments and tests are helping them to understand the condition more, with unpleasant procedures for genetic testing and blood tests to come further down road for Edie to help understand more how her condition will shape her future. This motivates me more to want to raise the money to help fund this incredible care and treatment they provide, as well as for those in far more serious conditions than Edie. GOSH are an incredible hospital full of incredible doctors and nurses, and they deserve our full support.

I am doing a parachute jump on the 25th of October all in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. I’m absolute petrified of Heights but this is something I really wanted to do so please help me raise £3000 for the kids in Great Ormond sheet

"I want to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital because I have a cousin that goes to this hospital and I want to make sure that all other children in need will get as good treatment as my cousin has.

£12 could get a tv in a child's bedroom, £50 could go toward improving equipment to keep more children out of intensive care, £70 could provide a weeks lunch for 2 parents on low income, so £500 could make a massive difference!

This year I’m turning 50 a big milestone that’s made me reflect on how lucky I am. Instead of receiving birthday presents, I’ve decided to do something a little different and use this moment to give back.

I’m running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Great Ormond Street Hospital because it’s deeply personal to me.

When I was a baby, Great Ormond Street Hospital helped give me the care and support I needed during a critical time in my life. I may have been too young to remember it, but my family will never forget the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff who were there for us when we needed them most.

Now, I have the chance to give something back.

Running 13.1 miles is my way of saying thank you — and of helping ensure other children and families receive the same life-changing care that I did. Every donation, no matter the size, will help Great Ormond Street continue their vital work.
