Great Oaks Charter School is raising money for our 8th-grade class trip to Washington, D.C!
Our lower east side school serves scholars from all five boroughs, and we need your help!
The trip to the country’s Capitol will be the first out-of-state trip for many of our students. In connection with our curriculum, scholars will be visiting the National Museum of African American History and Culture, seeing one or more Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and more!
On top of learning about our nation’s history, this is an opportunity for our scholars to see themselves being celebrated in museums and at universities- some for the first time. Students will also get a feel for college life outside of New York City.
Our goal is to raise $5,000, with the funds helping offset costs for all students. The trip will take place from May 18-19.
