Hi my name is Lisa I'm the President and founder of Golden Key Camp here in Gladwin, Mi we are a nonprofit, we grant wishes for kids with cancer and we have a campground here in Gladwin to welcome kids here year-round that are fighting cancer. We're restoring and updating the camp to make it fully handicap accessible year round camp and we hoping to be open in the springtime. I started the charity 10 years ago and we have helped thousands of Michigan children with wish granting and helping them achieve their last wishes.
We believe that everyone has a purpose and there are things they want to achieve, children that have terminal illnesses are no different but they lose out on their childhood and often have a short life due to the illnesses they have.
We believe those children have a purpose too, so we help kids fill their purpose and reach their goals. Whatever their goal is whatever they want to achieve whether it's meeting a celebrity or running a whole city as a Mayor or driving a sports car, or bigger ideas like flying an airplane or even jumping out of an airplane, being an attoney or a Police officer or a Doctor.
Golden Key Charity has a big goal for Christmas! We have 500 terminally ill children on our Christmas list that we want to give the most fantastic Christmas gifts to but we need help. Each child that we help is on average $1,000 to make their goal come true, whether its staying at our camp for a week with their family or an amazing adventure they want to achieve!
We're reaching out to the community this very special week in Gladwin, the city is recognizing this week as childhood Cancer awareness week with a proclamation from the Mayor's office. We're asking for your support to help make a goal come true for a Michigan child who is fighting cancer.
Gold is the color that represents childhood cancer so we have changed the spelling of that word to
G o a l e d.. and when pronounced sounds like... gold.

First of all, let me start off by telling you GOLD is the color that represents childhood cancer, and Yes we spelled the word Gold wrong for a GREAT reason! Our spelling and definition of the word GOALED is

Kids that are fighting cancer have a very serious goal to beat their diagnosis, but they also have goals and dreams like any other kids and we are “GOALED” to help them, of course by raising awareness but by helping them reach their GOALS!
Children diagnosed with cancer have goals to beat their diagnosis, thrive and live out their dreams. Sadly some of these children dont reach their goal due to the illness and physical disabilites and we are GOALED to help those special kids that have entered hospice, to help them reach their GOALS. We all have goals we need to chase, accomplish and achieve. No matter what our age, situation, or how many dreams we have already accomplished, there is always more we feel we need or want to accomplish. Children who are terminally ill,.. have dreams and goals too, lets help them.
Through the Golden Key Charity “GET GOALED” philosophy and motto we encourage these brave children to be continue to be the brave youngsters they are and fight the disease,.. but with your help together we can help arrange for them to reach whatever goal they set out to we believe with them all things are possible not matter what the circumstance and barrier,.. if you have a goal lets do what it takes to accomplish it!
In addition to bringing awareness to a deadly disease, and encouraging us all to set and accomplish our goals, the goal
of GOLDEN KEY charity is to help give 500 kids the greatest Christmas gift ever THIS YEAR,.. to help them to reach their GOAL,.. to help them GET GOALED! And through this mission, We hope you will be inspired and excited to renew your dreams and put life back into your goals! Goals often slip AWAY but from now on let’s recommit and start digging for our GOLD and“GET GOALED!”- Has a double message...
1. Being aware of childhood cancer isn’t enough - we need to make a difference!
2. Being aware of our dream isn’t enough - we need to make the impossible happen and GET GOALED!
So how can you help? How can you, your company, your office, Corporation, business, family, friends, your
school, a group, organization, club you are in, your church or you personally get involved? Easy ... do a collection! Ask every one you know, your office, coworkers, club, employees, customers, patients, friends, family etc to
make a pledge, donation, and on a day you choose to be your “Childhood cancer awareness GET GOALED DAY”. A day to honor kids with cancer and to set goals! Get the word out on your social media about your week long or month long mission.
For 10 years now The mission and vision of Golden Key charity has had a fantastic-huge- awesome-incredible goal to help kids with cancer by helping make "goals come true" for these amazing kids who have very uncertain and devastating news daily, we have helped hundreds of kids by encouraging them with birthday parties, Last Easter, Christmas celebrations for those children who were at end of life, as well as thrown amazing birthday parties, filled hospitals with our huge toy drives and art collections for the kids in the hospitals.
We are excited about our massive year end goal to gift 500 kids this Christmas the glorious news they will receive a GOAL REACHING GOLDEN KEY!! And that means: 500 children who are diagnosised with life threatening illnesses have been chosen to get the help they need to reach whatever GOAL they want to accomplish. The Key is to represent the gift of the GOAL they will get the helpto reach and on the Key is printed "I WILL REACH MY GOALED BECAUSE SOMEONE CARED FOR ME" with your help we will help 500 kids in 2025. Whatever their goal is to achieve you will make it happen, yet the child gets all the credit and glory as they should!
And to thank you, you will receive a plaque from Golden Key stating you helped a child reach their GOALED, maybe its a day to be a police officer, or a business person, train a dog, run an excavator, a run a store, be an anchorperson on TV, ride a rollercoaster, go on a vacation in Michigan with their family or meet a celebrity or be a celebrity, climb a tree go on a fishing adventure, or likely its a very special "bucketlist" goal as many of the children we serve are in the beginning stages of hospice. Please help them reach their goal,.. to be GOALED, Gathering Opportunities of Abundance with Limitless Empowerment and Determination what ever it is! Lets believe in those that dont have the strength to believe in themselves... children who deserve our support and strength.
Golden Key charity has goals also coming up in 2025, we have a camp in Gladwin, Mi that we have been diligently restoring to create a fully handicap accessible camp for children fighting cancer offering a day or week for a family fighting childhood cancer. Often, children miss out on their week opportunity at a Camp program because they were sick, hospitalized or couldn't attend because of their health. But Golden Key Camo will be available year round whenever they can come they are welcome, Your support pledges or donations will continue to help kids REACH THEIR "GOALED".
GOLDEN KEY CHARITY has a never-ending mission to raise awareness, but also create opportunities of love, joy and self empowerment, even in dark sad times, there is always space for joy and laughter for families that are fighting childhood cancer. Other camps for children fighting cancer may offer one week a year programs, but often, children miss out on their week opportunity at a Camp because they were sick, hospitalized or couldn't attend because of their health. Your support for making pledges or donations will help make this all a reality for these children.
Childhood Cancer needs to be cured, but only 3 or 4 % of finding a cure dollars go to FINDING A CURE. This number will never get childhood cancer cured; we can unite to help these brave kids, raising awareness is critical. They
don’t want to be brave to fight for their lives but they HAVE to. Children diagnosed with cancer just want to be
kids and have dreams with goals like the rest of us. Raising awareness makes a difference! Get your pledges for the month of November to Get GOALED and raise $1,000 wish will help a child reach their "impossible" goal,
