Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon

Hi, my name is Jill Groves and I'm President of Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon (GBR - www.goldenbondrescue.com).  Our mission is to rescue and rehome golden retrievers and golden retriever mixes. A bit over a year ago, GBR began working with a an animal rescue group in China (Together For Animals In China) to rescue golden retrievers that were being killed for meat in China's meat markets or slaughterhouse. I would like to  tell you about our project and, hopefully, you will agree that our work is just and you'll help us continue by donating.

Every year thousands of pet dogs in China, like Gwen (picture above), are stolen every year and sold to dog meat slaughterhouses. Because golden retrievers are as popular in China as they are in the rest of the world, many of the dogs stolen and slaughtered for food are goldens. Additionally, goldens used for breeding are sold to meat markets and slaughterhouses by the breeders once the dogs are no longer needed or the breeder is going out of business.



GBR, a 501c3 non-profit (Fed. Id # 93-1112566), has been working with TAC and other local China rescuers to rescue goldens and bring them over to the USA and place them in loving American homes.

GBR has 51 rescued goldens in Beijing waiting for their chance to come to the USA. Each golden costs approximately $1,500 from the time they are rescued from a meat market or slaughterhouse to the time they are placed in an American forever home. The money raised will be used to pay for the goldens' medical care and boarding while in China (including vaccinations, heart worm test, fecal and urinary tests), their required health and exit certificates, travel crates, and airfare.

Help us bring our 51 goldens to their forever USA homes. For each $1,500 donated, we will be able to bring over another golden. Our goal is to raise all $70,000 before the end of 2017.
