This fundraiser aims to provide sewing machines to vulnerable girls in Nepal, giving them the skills and opportunities to escape the dangers of poverty and sex trafficking.

• 37% of women in Nepal are married before the age of 18 (UNICEF, 2016)

• 27% of Nepali women are victims of Domestic Violence (Nepal Health, 2022)

• The average monthly household income is only $600 (Nepal Ministry of Labor)

• 40,300 Nepalis women are trafficked in the last 2 years (US State Dept., 2022)

We support a sewing school in Kathmandu. Every 4 months a new class of young women complete their course to become a seamstress in rural Nepal. Go Global is committed to providing each student with a new sewing machine upon graduation!

Gina Guddat - Director of Go Global Foundation

Hi, I'm Gina Guddat, the Director of the non-profit organization Go Global Foundation in Seattle.

 

Due to the horrific war in Ukraine, hundreds of children have been displaced. Many have lost their parents. Numerous orphanages have been destroyed, leaving thousands of children without a place to go.

 

Go Global is committed to helping this most vulnerable group. We have partnered with a credible, non-profit agency in Lviv called
"A Future For Every Child." The Director, Mr. Vladamir Burda, is on the ground rescuing children and transporting them to safety. They have already moved hundreds of kids to shelters, including 183 who escaped an orphanage in Chernihiv that was bombed. Their organization along with a multitude of volunteers now oversee five temporary facilities, each with 150-500 people. Some have also been placed in foster homes with "certified families" who can care for them temporarily. The Mayor of Lviv has set up a "Registration System" for certifying and tracking the children so that they won't become victims of human trafficking during these unprecedented times. 

 

Our goal is to provide the children with a safe place, food and medical attention.
