Help Young Men Go Beyond: A Trip to Washington, D.C.
We’re Go Beyond, a nonprofit initiative dedicated to creating opportunities and connections for under-resourced high school boys (11th and 12th grade) in Rochester, NY. Our year-long program supports these young men by surrounding them with mentors, real-world experiences, and exposure to life-changing opportunities.
Go Beyond helps them prepare for what’s next—college, trade school, or meaningful employment—by opening their eyes, hearts, and minds to what’s possible.
What We’re Raising Money For
This spring, we’re taking our young men on a 3-day trip to Washington, D.C.—a powerful capstone experience in the Go Beyond journey.
We’re raising $30,000 to help make this trip a reality.
This trip isn’t just a sightseeing tour—it’s a life-enhancing opportunity for students to:
• Engage in meaningful conversations with elected officials and community leaders.
• Visit historical landmarks that bring to life the struggle and progress of civil rights and leadership.
• Explore college campuses and career paths they may have never imagined for themselves.
• Build stronger bonds with their mentors and peers—connections that last far beyond the trip.
Why It Matters
For many of our students, this will be their first trip outside of New York State, let alone to our nation’s capital. It's a chance to dream bigger, see broader, and believe deeper in their own potential.
Last year’s trip sparked powerful reflections, built unshakable confidence, and helped young men shift from wondering if they could succeed… to planning how they will.

That’s the kind of transformation we’re aiming for again this year. But we need your help to make it happen.
How the Money Will Be Used
Your donation will go directly toward covering:
• Transportation (Charter bus to/from D.C.)
• Lodging for 3 days and 2 nights
• Meals for all students and chaperones
• Admission fees to museums, monuments, and cultural sites
• Group experiences designed to enrich learning and build community

• $50 – Powers two meals and relationship-building moments between mentors and students
• $100 – Helps cover one night of hotel lodging for a student
• $250 – Sponsors a student’s transportation to and from Washington, D.C., including all planned experiences
• $300 – Covers two nights of hotel accommodations for one student
• $500 – Supports a major portion of a student’s 3-day experience, including travel, lodging, and meals
• $1,200 – Sponsor a Student’s Full Journey: Cover the entire cost of one young man’s transformational trip to D.C.
• $1,500+ – Become a Go Beyond Champion: Fund multiple students or a key experience like a private group event, expert speaker session, or cultural excursion that deepens the impact
