Unidos Somos Mas - El Salvador Relief Fund
El Salvador needs your help.
We know everyone around the world is facing tough times and, in El Salvador, we are living one of the worst moments in our history.
As a developing nation, our communities manage to survive day by day, uncertain if tomorrow they will have food on their table. As the devastating consequences a of a nationally imposed quarantine, informal street vendors have been unable to earn a living for over two months. The dire situation was quickly exacerbated last week when we were hit by Tropical Storm Amanda, leaving more than 10 thousand families homeless.
We have decided to take urgent action and help relieve these families’ short term needs by creating +Unidos Somos Más+ (“+United we are More+”). +Unidos Somos Más+ is composed of more than 100 national and international non-profit organizations, foundations and companies that have joined forces to alleviate the multidimensional impact from the tropical storm and the COVID-19 economic and health crisis.
All funds will be used to help rebuild lost homes, purchase clothing, blankets, and other basic needs. We have strict procedures to identify and prioritize needs through a web of local volunteers on the ground, we have established solid relationships with suppliers, and have efficient logistics that enable us to reach even the most remote areas of our country.
Every donation helps:
- $20 gives a bed to someone who will probably sleep on the ground tonight
- $145 builds a temporary home for a family.
