For over 25 years, Global Vessels has been a beacon of hope for orphaned children in Tanzania through the Havilah Children's Home. Today, we're launching a campaign to raise $50,000 to continue our vital mission of providing education, healthcare, and a loving home for these incredible children.

Summary:

Global Vessels aims to raise $20,000 to construct a solar energy farm at the Havilah Children's Orphanage. Once built, the solar farm will provide a free and reliable energy source for the housing buildings and technology/learning center. This solar farm will vastly improve our children's lives while providing sufficient energy to run Carol's Bakery, the primary income source for the orphanage.

Our Ask:

Havilah Children's Orphanage is an orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania, run by Global Vessels. The orphanage cares for children in the region who have either been abandoned or whose parents have died. In addition to caring for the children, the Havilah offers services to the surrounding community. As a part of our mission, Global Vessels organizes community projects and trips to underserved communities worldwide to serve humanity and spread God's love.

A key goal for Global Vessels in 2023 is to reduce dependence on grid electricity for Carol’s Bakery and the children's homes. Carol’s Bakery was founded to help our children learn to bake and what it takes to run a business. Demand is very high for our baked goods, but we are currently having issues with production due to Arusha's unreliable electricity grid. In the evenings, power is typicaly shut off; there are some days when there is no power. Unreliable electricity impacts production at the bakery and children's ability to have consistent, clean water and lights.

To solve this problem, Global Vessels plans to bring solar power to Havilah Orphanage and Carol’s bakery. In addition to improved business function, having reliable electricity will improve living conditions for the children. Installing the 7KW solar project will cost $20,000, and we are looking for donors to help make this a reality. Because of your donation, Havilah will be well on its way to becoming self-sufficient, and our children will be set up for tremendous success.
