On behalf of our friends in Uganda, The GO Fund sponsors raising money for the Lutino Adunu Community Library & Resource Center Construction Project!

It has been 9 months since our Lutino Adunu dinner/auction fundraiser , in Ferndale, Washington, and we wanted to update you on the LA Community Library and Resource Center construction progress.

Well, we're getting closer! Despite countless challenges, unforeseen rising costs and unplanned expenses, inclement weather and a critical termite infestation at our former office and library buildings, the Lutino Adunu Community Library and Resource Center has exterior walls, doors, windows and a roof!

All library and office books, furnishings and office equipment, solar panels from the former locations are being temporarily stored in the new conference hall until the complex is completed. Due to the termites eating away our books and creating unsafe structural conditions for LA volunteers and staff, we were forced to shut down Lutino Adunu offices in January and hurry the building process. LA offices remain closed, at the time of this writing, although Shilla and staff are doing their best to maintain our projects and programs from random, remote locations.

Keep in mind, this complex is built with manual labor only. Even the brick are individually hand-made. No big trucks to lift heavy rock, no cement mixer, no scaffolding, dump trucks or sturdy ladders. Many of these workers are prison inmates eager to support Lutino Adunu’s mission in exchange for food and learning how to read.

The construction project is currently stalled due to insufficient funds. It is estimated another $20,000 US, is needed.

In the meantime, we have updated our website to better serve you. We now have a direct donation link which simplifies sending donations specifically for library and complex support. We are still requesting donations to complete the construction and furnish the library. , https://lutinoadunu.org/
