My name is Vernon Jackson, and I believe every child deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and loved—no matter their differences. That’s why I created The Gifted Event, a free haircut program for children with special needs and their families. What started as one act of kindness in my Cincinnati barbershop turned into a movement that’s changing lives and inspiring compassion across the country.

For many families, a simple haircut can feel impossible. Lights are too bright, clippers too loud, and the world just isn’t built for their sensory needs. I know what it feels like to be overlooked, to feel insecure, and to fight for acceptance. That’s why, on my days off, I transform my shop into a safe haven—giving these kids my time, my listening ear, and my heart so they leave not just with a fresh cut, but with a memory of belonging.
