For 51 years, the dream of Gesundheit Institute, a free hospital, has been growing on 300 acres in West Virginia. The healthcare system in America has never been more broken and requires a new model.

The (real) Dr. Patch Adams, MD, has kept this dream growing, even though a Hollywood movie version of the story, which could have moved the vision forward, did a disservice by indicating that the goal was realized with the hospital built and operating. Not so!

Now is the time! A documentary film is being made that will tell the world about his 300 group clowning trips and lectures in 82 countries and five war zones. It will show veterans with PTSD whose lives were transformed. The world will see the six buildings already on the land in West Virginia, including the art center and the School for Designing a Society teaching center and footage of workshops and communal living

happening there already.

UPDATE! Investors are indicating that they are considering building the actual hospital (YAY!). Still, the infrastructure of Gesundheit Institute needs to be bolstered with the dedicated attention of an expanded staff to deal with the red tape and bureaucracy demands.
