Pray for Peace - Genesis Initiative
The Genesis Initiative is a US based 501 (c) 3 not for profit public benefit corporation, that supports and encourages the development and production of great Catholic inspired movies and documentaries.
We are currently supporting the development of a new major movie about the apparitions and miracle of Fatima, with our production partner, Origin Entertainment (fatimathemovie.com).
There has been no call for peace voiced as clearly as the message proclaimed at Fatima in 1917. The message is universal. It is a call for everyone, regardless of faith, to actively seek peace in the world through prayer.
We are launching the Pray for Peace Campaign as a challenge to each of us to honor the courage of the children of Fatima, who brought forth this message, by becoming instruments of peace ourselves.
Pray for Peace is a year-long, global movement to inspire millions of people of all faiths to pray for peace, in honor of the hundredth anniversary of the Apparitions and Miracle in Fatima.
Our strategy is to recruit celebrity thought leaders and influencers from the world of sport, entertainment, media and faith, to endorse and promote the message of ‘the power of prayer’, and ‘praying the Rosary for peace’.
Our vision is to create a prayer movement, by stimulating the masses to commit to the regular act of praying for peace.
We are raising money for the launch event of the Pray for Peace campaign with a special mass at the Notre Dame de Bon Voyage church in Cannes, France during the film festival on May 13th 2016. This is the date of anniversary of the first apparition at Fatima, and the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima in the Catholic calendar.
We are inviting the Film Festival guests to attend the mass, to raise awareness of the launch of the campaign, and to invite personalities of the film world to start endorsing 'the power of prayer for peace', and the Pray for Peace campaign.
The money will be used to pay for the event expenses, including the mass, the Church, press and publicity, printing prayer cards, and the cost of travel and accommodation for the organizers and key Church officials.
We will require funds up to and including 1st May 2016.
The question that motivates us to pursue this ambitious campaign project is a simple one:
Who will act to foster a global climate of peace if we do not?
Our aim is ambitious, but we cannot do it without you.
The time to ignite the passion of the world toward peace is now.
Join us on this important mission, endorse prayer as a means for peace, be empowered to make a positive impact on the world today.
Our thanks will be expressed through the success of an event that reaches out to those personalities who can stimulate the masses to commit to the regular act of praying for peace.
This is an objective that reaches well beyond the thanks of a single person, or organization. This is an expression of our desire to fulfill a divine instruction and raise attention to the message of Fatima, for a modern audience.
