I was inspired when superhero chef Matt Louis recently ran an entire marathon from his treadmill to benefit furloughed employees from his great Portsmouth restaurants. At the May 4th City Council meeting, I will be doing my own treadmill fundraiser. During our Zoom meeting -- which will likely take 3-4 hours -- I will do a 10K from my treadmill. 

Believe me, I am no Matt Louis, and will not be setting any speed records, but I hope you will help me raise money for an important Seacoast non-profit, GATHER.

GATHER plays a huge role in the Seacoast with food for folks with low income and their families. Help eliminate hunger for some of our neighbors -- they need it now more than ever.

We held the Fill the Hall 2019 this past Saturday 6/22 at the Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH.  This was the fifth year of the event and it was a great success.  We had hundreds of people drop by to donate food and show support. We more than filled every seat in the Music Hall with a bag of food once again! 

This program helps to fill the gap when subsidized school meals are not available during the Summer and provides 10 meals a week to almost 1,000 children on the Seacoast - from Hampton to Kittery and then over to Durham and up into Rochester.  I am now trying to raise $2500 for Gather (formally Seacoast Food Pantry) between now and July 3rd  to supplement the donated food.  Just $25 can feed a child for a week and $100 would feed a child for a month. I personally spend a good amount of time supporting Gather and would ask that you consider supporting this cause.

PS - you'll note that the color of the bags are  the colors of Gather's logo and also done in an effort to support the Portsmouth Pride Parade that took place on Saturday as well.
