The FCNS Playground Renovation Project
Fullerton Community Nursery School (FCNS), the play-based learning, parent participation pre-school, where generations of OC kids have had the pleasure of attending, needs to replace both of their playground structures. The monkeys are no longer swinging on the 3-year old side (the overhang ladder had to be removed) and the 4-year old playground's pirate ship is literally sinking!
The goal is $80,000 for both playgrounds, including the blue track replacement. It has been 20 years since the last playground enhancement, so this investment will last for years to come.
The renovation will take place in stages. The 3-year olds' play structure replacement is planned for December 2019, followed by the 4 year olds' structure replacement in Summer 2020. The goal is $40,000 by December 1, 2019.
Although the school has a very small percentage in reserve, most of the funds needed will be generated from this campaign. Any additional funds raised will be used for many other projects around the school. Classroom upgrades and enhancements, teacher supplements, and toddler class equipment and supplies, just to name a few.
If you, your children or your grandchildren had the benefit of attending this beautifully curated school, you know how well loved and needed the playgrounds are at FCNS. Play and community is the heart of the school. The experience at FCNS is invaluable, undoubtedly shaping children, parents, families and communities for a lifetime.
