2 Wells, clothing , shelter for Refuges in Uganda
This is the problem of the well at lake Albert in Uganda. I been going there for many years. This area is so devastated from the war across the lake in the Congo . Kids without clothing, lack of food and shelter, and the water is contaminated with animal and human waste. We had put one well in but the rains and floods destroyed the one well we had there. We have an opportunity to put hopefully two good wells in higher ground plus clothing, shoes shelter, food and meds. Please pray for this. 8000 people there without safe water.
Letter from Albert in Uganda
The need for safe water, food, clothing, health care, among other needs as well is overwhelming, and pressing hard on the lives of folks in the villages we intend to continue ministering to and avail safe water, GOD willing.
Was able to make it there so as to get firsthand information, but couldn’t believe what my eyes could see! The increase in water levels at the lake has turned out to be a disaster! For even the bore-well we had constructed years back and was resourceful to the folks was eaten away by the waters! Imagine it was over Kilometers away from the lake, but it’s almost no more as of today! Folks can no longer use it and this applies to lots of homesteads that were swept away by the waters. A congested village that was full of folks and various activities with congested homesteads is no more! Will get you some pics for that in my next write-up. Folks had to relocate to other side of the village which was a bush to ensure they can find a new place to save their dear lives.
A place where we could drive to, or walk and reach the bore-well we had set-up years back, this time round l had to hire a boat to sail me to the spot where the bore-well is! It’s all almost covered in water, and l don't think that it will ever be used anymore by what l saw! In one of the photos attached here is of that bore-well before it was eaten away by the waters! We will just have to set-up a new one within the area where folks have been relocated to. Same applies to the playgrounds, they were almost getting covered up in water, but the folks mobilized themselves and removed them soon. They relocated with them, and we will just need to see how to fix them up for the young ones to use them. Folks restored back to consuming contaminated lake water having had the bore-well covered with the rough waters!
Galatians 6:9 “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”(NLT)
As the need for safe water remains part of the most urgent needs, have been able to engage the Surveyor (Mr.Bonny), reached the new area where folks are relocated to, and the hydrological and geophysical survey has been done. Expecting to get a full and detailed report from the Surveyor soon, but the preliminary report has good news and it’s that, within the new area, a borehole can be drilled there, for indications show water table is fine and water is available.
As the entire team with Frontline Outreach, it’s our prayer for open doors in all that is needed for the water project to progress among other needs, so as to bring a smile of hope in the lives and hearts of folks as we bring them love, hope and the Gospel of truth.
In here, we are talking of a huge village with a population of over 8000 in populace! It’s clear that one borehole once drilled will not be enough, but we believe it can be of help to some extent, and GOD willing we will have them more as and when doors open.
We continue to appreciate every prayer, encouragement, support, guidance, and much more geared towards enhancing the spreading of the Gospel with a practical touch.
Thank you for continuously partnering with us to reach the world with the love of Christ. It’s not us to be praised, but the LORD Almighty, in whose name we move out and restore hope into hopeless hearts.
1 John 3:16 “We know what real love is because Jesus gave up His life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.” (NLT)
