Want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit From Broke To Breakthrough, a nonprofit organization pioneering a new twist on a classic education technique, parent/child read-aloud! Our schools are in crisis, and the Pandemic made matters worse. We offer a new approach. We bring the message, “Parent-Child Read Aloud Is Powerful!” to schools, churches and civic groups. Studies show when someone reads aloud to a child for 15 minutes a day, in time the child’s reading level goes up a full grade! How it works – Children are designated as Interns and their Parent makes a pledge of daily aloud reading. Parental engagement is the key to the success of Our Project. The Parent and Child get a t-shirt, and they hear from us by newsletter once every two weeks. They also get a hardback copy of our book, “When the Rhythm of the Drumbeat Changes: a Child’s First Book about Money.” Kirkus Reviews says our book is “A kid-friendly introduction to the basics of financial literacy.”

Parents and children take pride in showing they are Interns with Our Project. We also have our parents work with children’s teachers to incorporate the daily aloud reading with classroom reading assignments. Children become involved, parents are involved, teachers are engaged, and family, friends and community are involved – a wonderful synergy for the Whole Child!

What We Ask – any donation is appreciated! But more importantly, post this on social media with your message about educating our children. We aim to add more than 30 children to our program by 2023!
