About Friends of Woodlands and Waters

Established in 2000, The Friends of the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge is a non-profit organization of dedicated and conservation-minded volunteers who work with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Eastern Massachusetts National Wildlife Refuge Complex to protect and enhance the refuge's flora and fauna. Through stewardship activities, education and outreach programs, Friends work to ensure these valuable resources are available for the enjoyment and education of present and future generations. The Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge is located in the Massachusetts towns of Sudbury, Hudson, Stow and Maynard.
