Friends of the Lakota Nation Inc

We are a small organization dedicated to the South Dakota Indian Reservations with the hope to provide assistance for its communities. Our purpose is to support and empower the Lakota people as they continually strive to build hope for their future. With the help of numerous volunteers and donors, we provide basic family assistance, establish an annual toy drive for the holiday, and serve, the best we can, with any immediate or long-term needs. We understand that the systemic issues that reside on the Pine Ridge Reservation and its outlying communities cannot be fixed without monumental cultural changes. In the future, we hope to increase our involvement with sustainable solutions to long-term issues such as access to healthy food or quality of living for the families that reside in the communities. Additionally, we are interested in programs that encourage educational improvement and support for the up-and-coming generation of Lakota children. Over time, our mission is to provide support for these initiatives through partnerships with the Lakota Nation and those who desire to affect positive change.
