RECENT POST FROM A FOPAS VOLUNTEER:

This morning, as reality sets in, I asked Lynne if she wanted us to begin packing anything. It is the most uncomfortable feeling, the emptier the kennels, the emptier I feel inside. As we were ready to leave for the day, we got a call from AC, asking if we could take a puppy. The puppy, is no more than 1-3 days old and needs to be bottle fed. The mother had not cleaned or fed, and maggots were chewing on her rear end. As "gross" as that sounds, we do it all the time. I stood there beside Lynne as we cleaned them off, hoping they haven't gotten inside her. The dedication, the commitment, the innumerable kittens and puppies she has literally saved, really set in. She has spent years of her life, sacrificed time she will never get back, worked 7 days a week, sometimes with little or no help. She doesn't do it for attention, she doesn't do it for money (for sure), she does it because she really cares. She believes in what she does, even when no one else does. I realized in that moment, she is still holding on to hope. Hope that something will change, hope that someone will help, hope for all the animals who may not have a future. And as long as she has hope, then, so will I. We are looking for a new location, to buy or lease to own. And once again, I am asking for your help ❤️. There are properties in this area that are not being used, there are people in this community who can help. ❤️
