Improve Aviary Facilities in Maryland State Parks
Over the last five years the Friends of Maryland State Parks has provided grants to state parks that have aviaries to house various birds. These grants include updating facilities, installing educational signs and overall care of the animals. The photo displayed is a recent installation of signs at one of our park aviaries.

The Friends of Maryland State Parks (FOMSP) provides support to Maryland State Parks through small project grants, volunteer support, and advocacy. The FOMSP is an all volunteer organization. No funds are used to pay salaries.

The Friends of Maryland State Parks (FOMSP) is a statewide non-profit, independent, all volunteer, citizens 501(c)(3) organization formed in 1997 to preserve, protect, enhance and advocate for our state parks, one of Marylands most precious treasures. We believe state parks are public lands that belong to all citizens and future generations. The FOMSP provides small grants to Maryland State Parks focused on conservation, education and recreational needs. Launched in 2020, the Small Grants, Big Impact! Program of the FOMSP is designed to inspire people from all backgrounds to connect with, celebrate, and support Maryland’s State Parks and their community-based programs. In the last five years, the FOMSP has awarded 95 grants for Maryland State Park projects.
