Friends of Jaclyn

Every year the High Point University Women's Lacrosse team hosts a 5K to fundraise for the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation in honor of Mason Lavack, the team's honorary captain, who passed away in September 2011. 

"His spirit lives in all who met him. He was brave beyond his years and his courage is legendary. He taught us about life. He taught us about ourselves. He made us better people. He was a hero and he will be missed."

The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation matches children diagnosed with pediatric brain tumors to local teams in an attempt to improve the quality of life for the children.

To give back to a foundation that gave us so much, we will be hosting our 9th Annual Mason Run 5K. It will take place on Saturday, April 10th. Due to COVID-19 the run will take place virtually again this year, but we hope to see you all still running along with us! For more details on the virtual run, head over to our Instagram: @hpuwlax.

All proceeds will go towards the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.

Hi everyone,

Three years ago, the Marist Women's Soccer Team adopted a beautiful young girl named Jaimie Ferretti through the Friends Of Jaclyn Foundation. For those of you who aren't familiar with the foundation, Friends of Jaclyn (FOJ) is a not for profit organization that pairs up children with pediatric brain tumors with college and high school sports teams.

Since Jaimie has been such an inspiration to us over the past few years, we try to do everything we can to give back to the foundation that paired her with us. With our annual Friends of Jaclyn home game approaching on 10/4/14, the Marist Women's Soccer Team will be fundraising to support the foundation. Please come out to Tenney Stadium that night to support us, and to meet our energetic and adorable little sister, Jaimie.  We would love to get a jumpstart on this effort, so please feel free to make a donation of any value via this page. All proceeds go directly to the foundation.
