Pam Wallace Memorial: 10K for the 10th Anniversary

As many of you know, the 10 year anniversary of my Mom's -Pam Wallace- death is coming up soon on December 8th. Its hard to even say those words because it doesn't seem possible that we have been without Mom for an entire decade.
I have really been thinking a lot about what I could do this year on this big anniversary to honor and celebrate my Mom and keep her legacy alive.
If you were lucky enough to know my Mom then you know she was the most loving-generous-give you anything she had- woman. Whether it was a free hair cut, sushi date, or buying Santa gifts for multiple families at Christmas. You always know that Pam would show up for you. She was always volunteering at events and helping anyone in need.
This is where my idea of 10 for 10 came about. I thought I bet I can raise 10,000 for the 10 year anniversary!! So then I needed to decide where would I donate the money I raised and I immediately thought of the Friends of Children's Hospital who raises the funds for Blair Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson, MS. Most of you are also aware that my sister passed away in 2013 after having a seizure in her sleep- she was a patient her entire life at Blair Batson and I knew that this charity would be something my Mom would love. Fun fact: Blair Batson is also where Jonny did his residency and where I did one of my very first nursing school rotations- its definitely a special place to us.
Your donated money will go directly to the Friends of Children's Hospital and is tax deductible. You will receive an email confirming your donation with the tax deduction statement.
I have been in close contact with Friends of Children's and all of the money raised will go directly to the neurophysiology lab- the team who helped treat my sister. They are busting at the seams and are in GREAT need of our donations so they can grow into the new Children's building. We will be hearing from one of the local doctors this week on exactly where this money will be spent!!
I plan to pop on social media and share stories and photos of my Mom over the next 2 weeks. Stories about her being generous or just funny stories in general. I also plan to tell you some stories about my sister and her treatment at Batson as well. I will also have a day where I want to hear how Batson has helped your children!
