About Free the Slaves
Free the Slaves works to dismantle the systems and conditions that allow modern slavery to persist. Since our founding in 2000, we’ve been at the forefront of a global movement to expose the reality that slavery still exists—and to mobilize effective, long-term solutions. Today, we partner with grassroots organizations around the world to implement community-based strategies that protect vulnerable populations, support survivor leadership, and build resilience against exploitation. Our work combines direct community empowerment, evidence-based research, strategic advocacy, and cross-sector collaboration. To date, we’ve helped liberate more than 16,000 individuals and equipped hundreds of thousands with the knowledge and tools to prevent trafficking.
