Kids4Kids Relief was founded by Sam Crimaldi and Elan Randle, two Southwest Florida 13-year-olds, after Elan's home on Fort Myers Beach was utterly destroyed in Hurricane Ian. Now, Kids4Kids Relief is positioned to make tremendous impact thanks to the help of members and volunteers in the Southwest Florida community and beyond.
While the community and the nation have united to assist the thousands of families affected by Hurricane Ian, our personal experience has demonstrated that kids’ and teens' individual needs and well-being are not being met during this traumatic time. While funding is being provided for essential needs, we realize that funds need to be dedicated for youth to obtain personal items that would otherwise be overlooked due to budgeting purposes. We have noticed many kids have been psychologically affected by losing all of their personal belongings. The slow and underpayment of insurance proceeds and donations to cover only essentials leaves parents budgeting to keep a roof over their family's head with no surplus for kids. While toys for younger children are a typical donation, we've seen many friends being psychologically affected as they feel they have no control over their situation.
Sam and Elan created Kids4Kids Relief to provide peer assistance and serve as a volunteer opportunity for other kids and teens to help cope with the emotions resulting from Hurricane Ian. All net proceeds will be donated to help kids’ and teens’ needs in SW Florida.
