Sweet Remington (Remi) was born to mare Kia on June 12, 2024. Kia was one of the three TWH from the hoarding situation we took into our Charlie’s Legacy - A Labor of Love program last year. As many know, Charlotte aborted her colt and we lost our beautiful Ren, born to stunning cremello mare Lotus, when he was 17 days old. To say these horses have brought so much heartache and so many expenses is an understatement.

Now Kia is doing okay health-wise, but now Remi needs stifle surgery. He started having a locking stifle in February, which is actually not uncommon in rapidly growing foals. But the problem has continued, so we finally had our vet radiograph his stifle, and the news is not good. He will need surgery for OCD. We will have this done at Littleton Equine Medical Center (LEMC), but we want to start raising funds now as we are just so down on donations. Can you help us?

In the summer of 2024, over 3,000 wild horses from the North Lander Complex and White Mountain HMAs in Wyoming were permanently removed from the range — families and bonds likely broken forever.

In January 2025, geldings from these herds were offered up for adoption through the online auction. Now, with the impending in-person and online adoptions, we’re working on raising $8,000 on behalf of the adopters supported by For the Love of Aria — a grassroots team working tirelessly behind the scenes to give these horses a soft landing and a beautiful reunion.

Your support will directly help to:

• Reunite families from North Lander and White Mountain

• Cover care costs that can reach $5,000 per horse annually — including transport, vet care, boarding, and more

• New adoptions

As a token of our appreciation, all donors who give $100 or more, will receive one 8”x10” or 10”x8” (depending on orientation) fine art print, signed by photographer Ross Vigil. You will have the ability to choose from one of eight exclusive horse prints. These are centered on my time at Crazy Horse Canyon (Thora) and in the Camarague.

We are fundraising to help Mackenzie with Wild at Heart Equine Gentling with McCullough Peaks mare Juniper whose foal died in holding after gelding complications. Her adoption price went really high and Mackenzie is a horse trainer and donates so much of her time so we just want to help her recover some of the price so she can focus on her horses in training with four of them being from For the Love of Aria. We would be very grateful for anything you can do.

These funds will be used to help organizations and private adopters for horses from any HMA on the current Internet auction, March 6-13th. If we raise more than we need it will carry over to the next IA. We truly don’t know how many more chances we will have to get these mustangs out of holding so we want to help as much as possible NOW!!

We have been asked to help raise funds for mustangs from the North Lander Complex. So for the current IA happening Jan 6-13, that will be Dishpan Butte and Muskrat Basin. That was the round up I attended last year and I know without a doubt these Wyoming horses are just as deserving as the ones we helped in 2024. Honestly that round up broke my spirit in so many ways so now we want to try to help others do right by these special mustangs by bringing them home!
