Save The Florida Keys Lighthouses
We're the Florida Keys Reef Lights Foundation Inc (Reef Lights, FKRLF), and any donation will help our goal of purchasing the historic Carysfort Reef, American Shoal and Sombrero Key lighthouses in Florida, the last lights in the Keys!

The U.S. Government is going to auction off the lights, one at a time. We do have funds and will be actively bidding on the towers; however, there's no telling how high the bidding may go. Any funds raised above the purchase price will go to restoration efforts (which will be significant).
Our ultimate mission is to obtain the lighthouses, restore them to original status and open them to the public! We want to have them open for tours, special events and even over-night stays. We would like to implement a Keeper's Program where you could live on the light for a predetermined amount of time, welcoming/assisting visitors, doing basic maintenance/upkeep, and more!

It will provide facilities to showcase, through interpretive exhibits and video, the historic value of these unique architectural structures in the development of Florida's commerce, in the general development of the Florida Keys, and in the national development of aids to navigation.
