Five Ton Crane

We did it! We brought Naga & The Captainess to Black Rock City and it was a HUGE success!

We couldn’t be more proud of what we did together. We are overwhelmed by the positive response from burners, old and new alike, who absolutely adored the piece. All our hard work, and all your support paid off in building a legendary work of art that has gone down in Burning Man history!

Thank you for believing in us all this time (or at least following along) before you knew how awesome this would be.

We had a magical week enjoying people falling up the deck to get into the Captain’s quarters, having their minds blown by the detail inside, singing sea shanties, climbing the mast, exploring treasure, journals, love letters, and hugging Naga, the accidentally friendly sea serpent. (Cjay meant to make him a liiiiittle more fierce).

People have been gushing how much they enjoyed the highly detailed works, and some people spent hours pouring over all of the journals, maps, letters, treasure, and trying to piece together the story of what happened. (Which we’ll tell you all one day).

While the art is incredible, we are equally proud of the new community of artisans we have built, and the skills and new art-family we have made. For many, this was a life-changing experience, and something we’ll all never forget.

We hope you got to see Naga and the Aldrovanda in person, and if not - you can enjoy these pictures and video. Also- we hope you get to see them in the real world when they sail and swim on to their next destinations!

Truth be told we have much work to do to prepare our heroes for their next journeys… and truth be told we are in a good bit of debt from everything it took to make this happen. We are still gratefully accepting donations (heavy equipment isn’t free!) To refill our chests as we are in the negative on doubloons right now. (It was worth it!)
