About Five Acres

Five Acres' mission is to promote safety, well-being and permanency for children and their families by building on their strengths and empowering them within communities. Founded in 1888, Five Acres is one of the largest, longest-serving agencies in the Greater Los Angeles Area dedicated to the treatment and prevention of child abuse, neglect, and mental illness. Five Acres is proud of our 137 years of uninterrupted service to vulnerable children and families in crisis in Los Angeles County and adjacent counties, impacting more than 300,000 individuals since our founding.
