Amie's Yoga Teacher Training
I've met tons of amazing people but this gorgeous woman is an inspiration! And now a person I wanna be like when I grow up LOL! Her smile brought ME life during our Zumba class and it made teach from my HEART! I'll let her tell you about herself, but you know how much I love yoga and the fact she wants to become an instructor and she's traveling to Costa Rica to do so, makes me reconsider my life decision hahaha just kidding. I admire your "valentia" and her determination. Here's Amie:
Happy day to everyone!
My name is Amie. The A stands for advocate, the M, for motivational, the I for impactful in the E for encouraging. I am an individual who has the privilege of showing all of my teeth, top and bottom, when I am smiling hard. When life got hard for me physically and mentally movement was the medicine that put a smile on my face. My journey has bought me to pursuing a yoga teacher training with Caribe yoga Academy in Costa Rica and I need your help.
Like Yuri, my beautiful, energetic Zumba instructor and yogi friend reminded me , I know that “ yoga is so much more than your body” and I understood that since my first physical therapist, in 2017, who did yoga for a pain management introduced me to some meditation in mindfulness. From there it has always been a method for me to process my physical and emotional stress and pain in a holistic and healing way.
Different instructors have made it possible for me to explore restorative, and kemetic styles, and I noticed unless it is put in front of people with disabilities, it is easy to bypass us. Sit with me will be the difference for individuals with physical disabilities and more. I I was sharing meditation and mindfulness through a small class at the Metropolitan multiservice center in Houston and I want to fortify my knowledge and share more after a yoga teacher training.
This is only the beginning for the mission of self fulfillment, self enrichment, and self embodiment through yoga, art, meditation, and mindfulness with people living with a through disability.

So I never thought about doing meditation yoga ever in life until I met Amie. My first experience doing meditation was the best experience I've ever felt. I always thought that I couldn't meditate. I didn't know how to meditate and you've shown me that meditation could be pretty much be anything . Any time with yourself when you pray you're almost meditating when you're your own thoughts, you're almost meditating.

Doing mindfulness and meditation for the period that it was here at w gray was very nice to have a day were it was not about sports. It was totally about rebuilding the mind and teaching you how to relax and meditate and be at peace with ones own self.

Meditation with Amie was very enlightening, she helped us focus on breathing techniques as well as getting in tune with our surrounding and elements while meditating.

Every Amie lead meditation class, I loved how calming she was. Amie always had the right words to say, and she said it in the best way they were not shameful or so directive
and it was guiding us to a better mental space . I could definitely feel that Amie was one of the people that are meant to do this kind of thing. She seemed to care a lot about it and she did a great job at it.

I love meditation because it helps me quite my mind. I've learned to be in the present moment. Yoga helps me stretch my body while remembering to breathe.
