Fireproof

12 year old Alaina was sitting and watching TV, when she heard the fire alarm going off in the hallway. When she opened the bedroom door, she smelled smoke and ran into the living room, where the wall was on fire. She ran past the fire and grabbed the phone, then ran outside to call 911 and her parents who were 3 min away.

Everyone got out safely, but the home is a complete loss.

Fireproof will be collecting these funds and distributing them directly to the Shaffer Family in these hard and tragic times.

Shortly before 8am, on Saturday March 8th, 911 was called for a structure fire with entrapment of a 2 year old. Tones were dropped and 4 Departments were immediately dispatched. As fire personnel arrived on scene, a second alarm was dispatched.

Units rushed and arrived on scene as soon as they possibly could. As I arrived on scene, I could hear the screams coming from Melina, both from the pain and the fear of losing her son. I watched these trained men and women work together and put every effort forth they possibly could, but inevitably, it just wasn't enough to save poor Jesse Umbaugh

Jesse Umbaugh, 2 years old, lost his life this day. This is a fear that most people have, and this day it came true, for Melina Bryner & Alex Umbaugh.

This is the time we need to come together as a community and give support ❤️

Let's not have them worrying about the funds to bury their sweet little boy on top of everything else......$1, $5, it all adds up!

We've hit the initial mark, but let's not stop there! This poor family not only lost poor little Jesse, leaving them with funeral costs, but they were both life flighted, leaving 2 life flight costs, hospital & Dr. bills, lost their 2 vehicles, and lost their home and everything in it with no insurance! They've been left with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!

Just before Midnight on Thursday, March 13, a fire broke out in Dillan & Autumn's home. Cooper, their toddler, was thankfully staying at Autumn's mother's. This allowed Dillan & Autumn the time they needed to get their 3 dogs out of the home. They both agreed, that had their son been home, they wouldn't have had the time to save their dogs as well.

Neither had the time to grab their phone, so after rushing to save their precious dogs, Dillan had to run to the neighbors to call 911. By this time, the flames were through the roof and they knew, there would be nothing left.

What once was their loving home, is now nothing more than a pile of rubble and ash. Monetary donations can be made here, or dropped off at The Coffee Shoppe or Fox's Pizza Den in Chicora.
