Research in the Eastern Pacific is critically important for shark conservation and the protection of other endangered marine animals for several key reasons:

The Eastern Pacific—especially regions like Cocos Island (Costa Rica), the Galápagos Islands, Malpelo Island (Colombia), and the Revillagigedo Archipelago (Mexico)—is a globally significant marine biodiversity hotspot. It supports a wide variety of marine life, including:

• Rays, such as oceanic manta rays

This project is being carried out by the One Ocean Worldwide Coalition, which is a collaborative alliance of four marine-focused non-governmental organizations (NGOs) dedicated to ocean conservation and sustainable marine ecosystems. The coalition comprises:

This includes initiatives like the upcoming Third UN Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) in Nice, France, co-hosted by France and Costa Rica, which aims to address critical issues such as marine biodiversity loss, climate change impacts, and the establishment of marine protected areas.

Fins Attached not only cares for animals in the ocean, but we also care about other animals that are suffering and need our help.

On the streets of Costa Rica, countless stray cats and dogs suffer alone—hungry, scared, and in desperate need of care. But hope exists. Anhelo Pets, a dedicated animal shelter, works tirelessly to rescue, feed, and heal these helpless animals, giving them the love and second chances they deserve.

Currently they are at capacity caring for 310 dogs and 80 cats, in 14 foster homes. They don't have the money to buy food or pay the vet bills to heal this poor animals.

Now, Fins Attached is stepping in to help, but we can’t do it alone. These animals need food, medical care, and shelter, and your support can save lives.
