Why FinAbility Matters:
Did you know that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men in the US experience domestic abuse? Additionally, 99% of domestic abuse survivors face financial abuse, leaving the average survivor with access to less than $250 in savings.
By survivors for survivors, we empower survivors of domestic violence and their families to build the financial security needed to permanently break free from the cycle of abuse, live free from violence, and thrive.
Together, We Achieved:
Website Impact: Over 25,000 individuals found empowerment through FinAbility's website since April 2022, with a remarkable 22,000+ joining us in 2023 alone.
Survivor Advisory Committee: We launched a Survivor Advisory Committee, welcoming eight incredible members whose lived experience informs our strategic direction and programming.
Financial Education Series: Our partnership with Financial Beginnings brought financial courses to life. 120 survivors and advocates attended a live virtual courses, and our recorded version has 250+ views.
Speak Out Event: 12 survivors bravely shared their stories in a public plaza, combating shame and stigma, spreading awareness and inspiring change.
