We are reaching out with heavy hearts on behalf of the Moskowitz family of Plainview, who are enduring what no family should ever have to face. Alyssa Moskowitz, at just 22 years old—the vibrant and spirited youngest member of her family—has been diagnosed with Advanced Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

From the initial discovery of persistent lower back pain to the relentless wave of tests—sonograms, X-rays, MRIs, biopsies, and a PET scan—Alyssa’s life has taken an unimaginable turn. Yet, through the storm, she stands strong, a guiding light of strength and hope for everyone. Alyssa, our fierce warrior, continues to inspire with her incredible resilience and unyielding spirit.

Having courageously completed fertility preservation and now facing a grueling six-month, bi-weekly regimen of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, Alyssa is fighting not just for survival but to reclaim her future. Her family, our family, has rallied unconditionally to support her, providing all the love and strength she needs.

Alyssa's battle stretches beyond the physical trials; it is a profoundly emotional and financial ordeal. With her father recently losing his job, the weight of mounting medical bills—co-pays, tests, ongoing treatments—has become overwhelming. In this critical moment, we turn to you, our extended family of friends and well-wishers, to help ease the financial strain on the Moskowitz family.

We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of the Ferro Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, to act as the conduit for donations. This partnership not only makes your contributions tax-deductible but also ensures that every dollar goes directly to aiding Alyssa’s recovery.

About the Ferro Foundation:

The Ferro Foundation was developed to help Long Islanders, focusing on students, seniors, and veterans. The Foundation currently offers two primary programs: an annual Scholarship Fund for Long Island students based on need and academic promise, and a veteran and senior home care program, which assists with financial assistance related to housing and health-related expenses or minor home improvement repairs or modifications. Additionally, the Ferro Foundation supports other not-for-profit agencies, including the Farmingdale College Foundation, Nassau Community College, and the United Way.

Founded and led by Sal Ferro, former President and CEO of Alure Home Improvements before selling in 2021 and now a dedicated town councilman, the foundation embodies the spirit of community support and philanthropy. Sal Ferro has been instrumental in the Long Island community for decades, supporting numerous philanthropic endeavors and inspiring thousands to give back. The board of the Foundation includes esteemed members such as Seth Selesnow, Dr. Henry Sikorski, Christopher Ferro, Joe Hatzfeld, and Kris Amplo.

Sal's stepdaughter, Kayla, is one of Alyssa's best friends and part of the strong circle of friends from St. Anthony's High School, embodying the #FRIARS4EVER spirit.
