Feeding His Sheep Inc

Hello, my name is Judy Thompson. I am the founder of the Feeding His Sheep Ministries. I started Feeding His Sheep Ministries in my living room. My friend Steve will pick up food and deliver to other establishments. One day he called my friend Phyllis to see if anyone wanted extra food he had because they didn’t want it to go to waste. Phyllis said, “let’s call Judy she knows a lot of people”. Together with some other friends we created these bags with food in the middle of my living room. People will come pick up and we will deliver for those who couldn't pick up. My friends Nancy's dad lends us a van to help us pick up more food on a weekly basis. It started growing and growing, we had to move to a bigger place. Thanks to several pastors who came along and Ignite Ministries, created a space for us. Feeding His Sheep Ministries has been feeding families for 10 years now. We have 39 consistent volunteers on a weekly basis including our Senior Pastor and his family. Our volunteers range from church members, community volunteers, children, teenagers with their parents and elderly. We start the week by packing bags then we go do are weekly pick up around town and beyond. Then on serving day Thursdays; I’m up and running early morning for more pickups. One of our volunteers shows up at 4am to set up tables and starts getting ready to serve the community. Not only do we provide food but prayer and connection to “Come Home”, people are invited to visit our church.

This Ministry is not only important to me but to Ignite Ministries and the whole Ocala community. Currently, Feeding His Sheep Ministries is feeding over 900 individuals a week. Feeding His Sheep Ministries is going through some changes and we need help. We shared a space with Ignite Ministries, a growing church who had to find a large space to house the growing congregation. But unfortunately, the new space doesn't allow a food pantry to be established there. Originally, the food ministry was planned to stay at that location, but the rent is not affordable, for a ministry that runs on food donations and volunteers. I am seeking funds to be able to rent a space or buy a space to call our own. If there is someone out there who has a space, they want to donate for our ministries, we will greatly appreciate it.
