- Our names are Erin Murphy and Sonya Bilocerkowycz. We're close friends who met 10 years ago while teaching in Moldova and Belarus respectively. We both have deep connections to Ukraine, and are confident that we have the best possible means of getting financial resources to real people in Kyiv.
- Erin has volunteered in Kyiv many times with our partners, Father's Care. We're proud to share that they have recently undergone a routine audit with a CPA, confirming that 99.2% of its budget goes directly into operating expenses. Father's Care has nearly 30 years of credibility as one of the leading grassroots social organizations in Ukraine.
- 50% of funds raised here will go directly to children who are orphans and wards of the state in Kyiv. These children have already experienced extreme neglect, abuse and trauma, and are especially vulnerable under the current circumstances. They are currently located in an underground bomb shelter, though we cannot share more about their location.

- 50% of funds raised here will go directly to families in Ukraine in need of financial assistance to evacuate or to purchase food, medical supplies, or short-term accommodation in the west of the country or in neighboring countries. Our partners have experience managing this type of humanitarian assistance, as they did so during the economic turbulence of the 90s and during the most recent conflict in 2014.
- This organization does not bank with either Ukrainian or Russian financial institutions; therefore cash flow to those in need is not a barrier.
MORE ABOUT US & WHY WE LOVE UKRAINE
Sonya, as a Ukrainian-American, has grown up with deep cultural and familial connections to Ukraine. She and her father took many trips to Ukraine when she was growing up. After her Fulbright in Belarus, she later went on to teach at a university in Lviv. She was in Ukraine during the conflict in 2014 and documented the stories of Maidan in her book, On Our Way Home from the Revolution.
Erin made her first trip to Ukraine as a 19-year-old college student, and has returned many times since then to work primarily with organizations combatting human trafficking. As a speaker of Russian, she worked as a dance and English teacher to the kids at Father's Care, many of whom are victims of extreme neglect and abuse. After her Fulbright in Moldova, she went on to work as a journalist covering the conflict in Ukraine of 2014 from a political magazine in nearby Czech Republic.
